Brentford and the Golden Mile are London’s New Property Hot Spots

The face of Brentford is changing. Substantial investment into regenerating various parts of Brentford and Hounslow is transforming the region into a new property hotspot.

There is a significant demand for property in the locality with a need to deliver 300 homes in Brentford and a total of 822 in Hounslow Borough each year. As Brentford becomes increasingly desirable, house prices are rising incrementally at a steady rate and planned transport enhancements and further regeneration plans including a £1.85m Brentford regeneration, a new £5.45m marina and a new 20,000 capacity stadium for Brentford F.C., make this a trend that is likely to continue into the following years.

House prices in Hounslow have increased by 48% in the last 10 years and prices in the region are 81% higher than the national average. Hounslow is the fastest growing borough in the country and its expanding population is putting strain on the housing supply further supporting house price growth. The planned link between the Golden Mile and Crossrail may add further strain as commuter times are slashed even further.

A new development, named IconBlu, is coming to Brentford’s Golden Mile. IconBlu Apartment Development Coming to Brentford

The Old BSkyB office building on its Osterley campus which has lain unoccupied since 2016 has been purchased by expert PD developers BYM Capital and is being converted into 271 high-specification studio to two bedroom apartments.

The development, named IconBlu, will provide allocated underground parking for each property, 24-hour security and CCTV, a private porter, a residents’ gym and lushly landscaped grounds. One of the five buildings will be retained as office space. IconBlu will launch in Summer 2018.

The development sits in Brentford just off the A4 adjacent to the Sky studios complex. It will provide much needed housing in the area to meet the demands of the over 25,000 people working on the Golden Mile, especially those looking for a shorter commute.

Residents at IconBlu are just a few minutes’ walk from Syon Lane train station from which they can access Central London in under 35 minutes. The properties will be sold both in the UK and internationally and it is expected that a large proportion of the apartments will be distributed as rental accommodation.

The units at IconBlu have been designed by Loroc Architects, specialists in the design of residential conversions and construction started just one month ago in April. All of the partition walls are now in situ. The development is due to complete during early 2019.
